I should have been in a press conference for this one - but I'll answer as best as I can.
With regard to SMT, it looks like you were playing the Persona off-shoot of the series, specifically Persona 3. It isn't the real MegaTen story line, but uses a lot of the demons from the original series. The best was Original Sin (Persona 2), which I still need a copy of. I can understand how annoying the school aspect was when I look back - but you should give the original SMT games a chance. Those games get extremely dark with their plot, and the battle system keeps you on your toes constantly. The one I'm stuck finishing currently is Nocturne, and I'm pretty close to finishing. In fact, I need to finish that immediately.
I'm embarrassed about The World Ends With You. I loved playing it a lot. And I think there was one moment when I was playing through that world a third or fourth time where I just got my ass handed to me in a battle and got angry about it. Because the difficulty ramp was so sudden. It threw me for a loss quickly. I may replay it again at this point since I don't remember much of the story. Besides, it will give me a chance to bring out my DS again.
Assassin's Creed 3 I got on Black Friday for 20 bucks last year. Not worried at all if it's that awful. So when I get a chance to play it, we will finally see if it's worse than Bayonetta - which I played earlier this year.
Need For Speed I'll have to play and get back to you on. I used to play Burnout a lot on the PS2, and honestly missed racing for a little while. I played 'NFS: The Run' at a friend's house and just missed driving, so I grabbed it off the discount rack. I'll let you know.
I stopped playing FF 12 because hunting marks was getting on my nerves - waiting forever for them to show up, going at a specific time of day - I think my interest waned. It's the home-stretch for the actual game though, and I really have no excuse. And I can't start the next one without finishing 12 (and I don't mean that open world crap).
If Pandora's Tower is like Alundra, I'm already excited. And that's moved up the Wii list as next to play. Speaking of Alundra, I picked it up for cheap on the PSN store. I think it was 10 bucks.
I've always had a soft spot for the Xenosaga series, including Xenogears. I still play it yearly like I do Chrono Trigger. Episode 2 just moved way too slow for me, and the characters were tough to get behind. If it wasn't for Albedo's acting in the first one I don't think I would have finished Episode 1.
Other M has been crushed across the board by many, many Metroid fans. Being that I only paid 5 bucks for it on Amazon I'll take their views with a grain of salt. Same also goes for Ghost Trick - cheap games make me care less, and sometimes they surprise me.
999 looked outstanding if you like mysteries, but it's more of a point and click game, and a lot of storyline. They're already working on a sequel.
I love Phoenix Wright. Absolutely love it. And if you haven't played the other two, please do so immediately. I even played the Apollo Justice game, which was a HUGE adjustment on my part the first time around. You really get upset when you know you're not playing as Wright anymore for a little while, but you start getting into it. But what's necessary is the first three games. Great music, the court arguments are so much fun to play - and the characters are well developed.
If you're playing Tiger 14 for PS3, let Hotfuj know - he'll invite you to our country club. I haven't played in a while. I should hit the links a couple times since I won't be able to play actual golf much longer.
