The Last of Us: Left Behind

I totally agree with Wallaby's disappointment. It just feels like a completely missed opportunity to really delve into other stories in this crazy world Naughty Dog developed. Ish was a fan favorite, and how fascinating that story would have been. I feel telling the story of Riley and Ellie was a safe measure.

They even mention in the PR release how Ellie's story was a fan favorite, and thus they wanted to revisit it! The backstory and what happened was best left to the imagination, an issue we discussed with Bioshock and returning to Rapture's "Glory Days."

The people at Naughty Dog are smart, so there must have been other reasons for pursuing this storyline. They do have that comic that was published "American Dreams," so we know they love this bond. But I would have loved to have heard from the Fireflies or even Tess.

I know I usually rush to judgment, so I'm going to choose to be optimistic regarding the DLC.

Re: Bioshock - 1 November 2013

I kind of wish I played this game with a microphone nearby so everyone could hear the way I scream. Also, Wallaby, can we please remember that the other two people are on the other side of the pond, so we will actually be starting Bioshock on NOVEMBER 1, 2013.

I'm quite excited to re-start it. I don't really remember why I stopped, I just know that it gave my fiance dizzy spells. Maybe I just answered my own question. Anyway, I plan on trying to soak in all the audio tapes, letters and environment Bioshock has to offer.

Bioshock - 1 November 2013

We will begin playing Bioshock, the one great Bioshock, on 1 November 2013. HotFuj has started it, Joker has never played it, and I've finished it but looking to replay it before the Bioshock Infinite Rapture DLC comes out.

We will only play the first two chapters in preparation for a discussion of the game on 7 November 2013. Things to watch out for are: intense and extreme Ayn Rand themes, awesome steam punk weapons, and some of the creepiest bad guys you'll ever see in the Splicers and Big Daddies.

Looking forward to Joker's first impressions on this one, but given the way he describes The Last Of Us, maybe deep story telling experiences just aren't his thing...
